"Templates" are page layouts that have been prepared beforehand to provide a format, questions, etc, to support your work. Sometimes you will be asked to use a particular template, e.g. "EDC 102 Member Profile" to begin a new page.
When you follow a "red" link in wikispaces, you will get to a screen that lets you know that the page must be created. If you click the Edit This Page button, you will get a blank page. If, instead, you choose a template from the pop-up menu, you will start with a page that has some pre-formatting. Templates are useful when several people are creating pages that eventually will fit nicely in a collection.
